Since there isn't much to do today, I went to have a haircut. Besides, my hair has been out of shape for quite some time, and a bit too long until the fringe annoyed me at the eyes area. So, I decided to go to Times Square to have my hair done. And here's the process, as explained by pictures.

Of course I didn't take pictures when the stylist was cutting my hair. Who would do that. But there are 2 procedures that I'm allowed to do so, hiddenly of course.

I was so tired after that. The whole process took me about 3 hours!!! I didn't have lunch before going, which I regretted doing so 'cause I was extremely hungry after that!

HANGOUT WITH PEEPS (AGAIN)
Was out with Orang Utan, King Kong, Cow and Bitchy Bitch. We went to pasar malam and Halo Cafe. It was really fun to hangout with 'em. We had so much joy insulting each other as usual, and singing along to Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On and Paris Hilton's Star Are Blind (ARRRRRGGHH).

1. Friday, 23rd June 2006. For the first time this year, Fantastic Four, made up of Monkey, Donkey, Piggy, and King Kong had an outing together during the holidays. Not to forget, Kelly (the orang utan), Derrick (piggy's cuddle) and Amber (the cow) were there too. Venue: Yuenz steamboat. I've been there many, many times since I was intorduced to the shop. The food there is average, but the ice cream and the bbq chicken are irresistably luscious! The service is fairly good. And the price is reasonable. To the readers, check the shop out. (Sorry, I don't know the address...)

Well we had so much fun in there. Criticism and sarcasm is our best tool to communicate with each other to produce jokes, puns and burns. It has been a long time since all of us sat down and talk things other than university related topics and issues. Anyway, after an hour or so, we saw a group of Taylorians coming in. The King was the first to notice, and then all in a sudden everyone was looking at their table. How embarrassing ti was if they were to turn and look at us staring at 'em.

Anyway, after the dinner, we headed to Asia Cafe for pool and foosball. All I gotta say is, it was a night when Monkey challenged the Cow in both games! First up, it was pool! After winning the first round (cause she entered the black ball at the wrong time), I had a losing streak of... one! After that, I succeeded cracking her head in the game! Too bad! Haha... Then, it was time for foosball. Both of us are newbies, but was tutored (shortly) by the intermediate player, Helena a.k.a. Piggy. Slowly, I was able to master the beginner tactics in order to win. And guess what, with Piggy's help, I succeeded! It was a close call, as there was little difference in score. Then, we played another 2 or 3 matches, and I never lost. Well well... could it be luck?? (P.S. external locus of control?!) Soon, everyone made their ways home and that's when the fun stopped.

2. Saturday, 24th June 2006. Venue: Station 1, Cheras. Attendants: Zheng Hong, "unknown gyal", Zero, NN, King Kong, Cow, Monkey, Orang Utan, Sab, Jess, Eric (shark). It was sorta a gathering for Zheng Hong or Scott, who is temporarily back from Australia for his holidays. Let's talk about the food and the ambience at the place first. French fries = average, buffalo fries = great, drinks = fairly good, fried sotong = absolutely crispy, overall 3/5. Since it's football fever, there's nothing much to say about the ambience. Just prepare for noise.

Game #1: CHEAT. An interesting that tests honesty, acting skills, friendship and bonds between bitches. Wahaha. Noothing much to say, as we only played twice since everyone got fed up with cheating. But it was cool to find out that King Kong was cheating. It's just somewhat difficult for her to cheat with me around. Lol.

Game #2: CHOR DI (I have no idea of what it is called in English). A classic game. The Lees seemed to be the winner of the game. Jess won, followed by King Kong, then by Monkey. What can I say, the Lee family roxx in that game.

Game #3: GO FISH? It's wrong to call the game go fish I think as the traditional way the game is carried out is totally different from the way we played. Anyway, there seems to be a favored loser of the game >> "Loh-ho", or translated as old whore (you know who you are!). We cheated a little here, and the "we" here refers to Cow, Orang Utan, Monkey and Sab. It was really fun. Everyone played in the end, making the deck of cards grew from 51 to 103, and the number of playes soared from 6 to 11. Loved the game.

Sidekick: GERMANY VS SWEDEN - the match which was on during the hang out session. It was great to see Germany scoring 2 early goals which settled them into the quarter-finals of World Cup '06. Bravo! Way to go! I hope to see 'em in the finals actually. Hope Brasil will lose some time soon. They are overrated for quite some time, and to seeing 'em losing is great happiness.

Music updates: Jessica Simpson released her new single called Public Affair that cause controversy as it sounded like Madonna's popular track, Holiday (source). Personally, I think the background tune of both tracks are similar. Nevertheless, both will make a great summer hit then and now.

Movie updates: Adam Sandler's latest offer called Click was released during the past week, and it entered the US box office at no.1 (source). I would love to catch that movie some time soon with my bitches. In Malaysia, Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift seems to be Malaysian's favorite at the moment for it is the #1 movie in GSC (15 June 2006-21 June 2006).

14 hours in Redbox Karaoke!

I had been pretty occupied for the past few weeks, so I didn't have time to update this space that I used to go to every now and then before this. But heck, I'm finally back to pen down everything that had happened to me these days.

First up, Valentine's Day. Was invited to Julia's house for a dinner. Felt weird there actually, since it was Valentine's Day, and I should be celebrating with a lover instead. Anyway, great food was served, although I had trouble with the fish bone by accident. After the dinner, it was time for photo session before I left the place for Pandan Indah. Stayed there until 2 something, before heading home again to rest. It was the first time I was in Taman Saga eating mamak that night. The nightview of the whole city was mesmerizing. It's definitely another hotspot for couples to go to.

Since then, nothing much that I can possibly mention here had been happening. So let me just jump to the orientation week for my uni.

The orientation done by Monash University was way better than Taylor's Business School. Why do I say that? Even though the first day was packed with boring speeches that bored me down, 2nd day was able to balance things off with fun and interesting ice breaking games. Frankly, Monash isn't such a bad place afterall. However, there is lack of choices for food and entertainment. Also, lack of a condusive environment for study purposes. The place is also kinda warm compared to TBS, which is over ac-ed at times. At the end of the day, I'm just gonna stay in this campus for another year only, before stepping on the new campus next year. Everything will be new, that's what I'm looking forward too.

Award presentation ceremony that I attended was short and nice. It barely lasted for 2 hours. And I love the prize that was awarded, since they weren't vouchers at all. Kelly was jumped over the moon when she knew what was in the envelope...

Just last week, I was in Redbox for a total 14 hours! On Thursday, Kel, Ju and I was there from 1-8. Well we sang from 1-5, abo was joined by the heng daiz after that. On Friday, my family threw a small advance party for me in Redbox again, from 8-12. Then on Saturday, went to Redbox Sunway to join this farewell party for Anthony who's leaving us soon for Italy on the 18th of March. All the best and good luck! I bet he's gonna do great over there.

After that particular Redbox session, I had to rush home because there's a wedding dinner in Kuala Kubu that I have to go to with my family. Wow, Kuala Kubu is such a far place. Just to travel to and back from there, I took us above 2 hours. The food wasn't great though, some of them... I odn't want to really comment. Well, it was actually my cousin sister's wedding dinner. But, throughout the whole time, we didn't even say hi to each other and I didn't even congratulate her or so. Actually, I don't even know her... Well, I'll just take this opportunity to wish her um... best of luck.

Alright, Uni-Life will officially start tomorrow. Outta here.

Life's a bore.

Orientation for university is approaching, but I still don't quite feel like starting my uni life that quickly. It's only a week left until orientation, and 2 weeks more till the official start of living hell.
Talking about university, there was a course advice session on Wednesday that I had to attend. Was a bit late due to some unforeseen circumstances, but in the end everything went aight. Got to meet back my members of the infamous F4 gang, Steph and two of my best pals, Kel and Jul. As we entered the hall, we noticed that quite a large number of the students present were from Taylors, let it be TCSJ or TBS. Hm, quite a surprise because I was expecting a total new environment in Monash later. After the whole session that lasted for less than half an hour, we went to Sunway for lunch before setting our feet probably for the last time in TBS. Then, headed back to Monash to get my car, before dropping off Kelly in Sunway again. Cool day it was.

Hm, what else had been happening huh. Since the last time updated, I had quite some time to watch a few movies. Saw 3 movies of different genres, while each of them deserve to be appreciated thoroughly, only 2 of em' actually caught my attention for more than 90 percent during the runtime. Firstly, The Descent. Although after reading the reviews and recommendations from my peeps, I wasn't impressed by the movie at all. The only word to describe the movie on a whole would be boring. Boring, boring and boring. Maybe because the ambience at home wasn't right for the movie, so I couldn't really enjoy it. Anyhow, I was too distracted since I was chatting while watching that particular movie. But that shouldn't be the factor that pulled the my ratings for the movie down, which happen to measure to only **.
Boredom soon was killed by a great masterpiece called the 'Cinderella Man'. Even though the starting was a bit draggy, the fights were amazing. The movie was shot beautifully, thumbs up for the director. Besides, the main actor, Russell did a great job in my opinion. Renee on the other hand didn't surprise me with her usual acting in this movie since I expected somethign different from her since I last seen her in 'Chicago'. Nonetheless, the storyline was simple and heart capturing. Bravo. A stellar **** for this type of movie.

Lastly, I bet minority would know about the next movie I watched. It is called 'Are We There Yet'. Fresh faces in the movie would have lessen the potential audience while the title wouldn't have grasped much attention from the public. I certainly think that this movie is a crossover between The Pacifier and The Perfect Man, with new and twisted elements being blended in together as well. The ironic scene of the movie was predictable, and would disappoint audience with 'great' minds. Wholly, I view it as a heart warming family picture that would make a business in the home market, but maybe not the big screens. Overall, it falls into the *** category in my movie database.

Oh yea, talking about university earlier on reminds me of my timetable that has been drafted out by the uni. Basically, I'm not satisfied with it at all. For Christ's sake I would have to attend uni EVERYDAY according to that timetable. Right now, I'm waiting for the allocation to open to students again for changes to be made later on. I'm fine with the schedule from Monday to Wednesday, but on Thursday, there's only 1 class that I have to attend which will last for 2 hours only. Relevant to that, there's only 1 lecture on Friday, but worse still, it's only an hour which is from 8 to 9 in the morning. Damn. I'm not over it yet, as I'm still furious.
There was a small fuss over Grammys on the 8th, and I should take this chance to send my congrats to the following artists who were named winners in their nominated categories this year!!!1) Shakira - Best Latin Alternative/Rock Album2) Kelly Clarkson - Best Pop Album, Best Female Pop Artist3) Beyonce - Best RnB Duet (can't really remember the category for that)

CNY 2007

It was a rather busy week that kept me away from making an entry in my blog. Some days were miraculously boring, while the rest were exhilarating at first, before turning exhaustive by the end of the day.

The first few days of CNY were nothing much. Stayed at home all the time, waiting for my relatives and my parents' friends to pay us a visit, or in cantonese, it's simply known as 'pai lin', a tradition that has been passed down to the younger generations for long. While most of the time I will just stay quiet in the living room, fully concentrating on the conversations that was going on, sometimes I will think about the future where I would be doing the same, which is visiting my friends during this festive season in 5, 10 or 20 years time, where we would have been long separated since graduation. It would definitely be the time when we're able to relive the moments of our youth, or the golden times we had in college/uni or so.

On Thursday, I was able to reunite with my friends that I've known since primary. She was the first friend of mine to have a ride on my car. Haha... Had a plesant time with both of them in Mid Valley. We went to the cinema to watch a chinese flick called 'My Kung Fu Sweetheart'. Although the show was 'dumb', I will still give it a ***. Anyway, Cecilia is pretty. With a good characteristics, I think she would make a pretty fantastic girlfriend. After the picture, we spent time shopping around. I got some magz, while they shopped for clothes. It was fun, but it fell short, as Eve had to leave already since her boyfriend was there.

Friday, the 6th day of CNY wasn't exactly boring afterall. Joined Julia and Jess in Joyie's house. Wow, 3 J's. The time in Joyie's house passed very quickly, as we did quite a few things, such as watching her dog having sex with the plushies, and trying on the message chair. After hanging out in her house for a while, we went for late lunch (it was about 3 o'clock at that time) in a curry house near her place (and mine too of course). Then, we headed back to my house instead. Had quite a fun time with 'em around. Overall, I'm just grateful that the day turned out that way, as I wouldn't want to be bored to death just like any other days.

Saturday had to be the most tiring day of all. After playing mahjong the night before (for the first time I won about a hundred and ten), had to wake up early to visit my grandma's house in the afternoon. After 2 hours in my grandma's house, we had to go to my uncle's house which is located a few kilometres away. 10-20 minutes drive is required to reach there I guess. Anyway, in my uncle's house, there was nothing much for us to do, so by then we decided to go to Leisure Mall instead for an hour or so just to fill up the empty slots of our schedule before going to my Aunt's restaurant for dinner.

Right after the dinner, I had to go to Julia's house for her open house. It was my first time driving to her house, and I had doubts about the right ways to her house, but luckily, I made the right turnings successfully. I had a great time at her house, although due to my fatigue that day, I yawned a few times when the atmosphere got all boring. Nevertheless, Julia kept things going, and I just have to thank her for having me there as I was given the chance to know a different side of her. And Tammy and Joyie, both of them are just cool people, very open minded and crazy most of the time.

Now that CNY's coming to an end, all the fun will be gone soon. And of course the plessure of receiving the red pockets will be gone too.

Now for some movie updates, I've seen The Transporter 2 and 40 Year Old Virgin. I wouldn't categorise both movies under the bad section, but both weren't impressive at all. The Transporter 2 was only nice because of the jam packed actions, whereas I give my thumbs-up for 40 year Old Virgin for it's unique concept and idea. However, I liked The Transporter 2 a little bit more as the latter film turned out to be boring occasionally. Overall, I would give ***1/4 to TT2 and *** to 40YOV.

There are a few things that struck my mind these days. I just realised that I can't communicate well with each and every one, unless we share the same characteristics or interests. I just envy those who can bring themselves around well, ya know... those social elites. So strangers, boredom is definitely written on my face. No matter how many times I tried to be friendly to someone that I just met, I would normally fail miserably. My jokes or humor wouldn't work at all. I gess its time for me to get a book or two from MPH on that issue. :)

CNY 2006

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! Gong Xi Fa Chai! Nian Nian You Yu! Yi Lu Xun Fung! Re Re Fa Da Chai! May all of us prosper in this coming year! In fact, may our luck be better as always and let the dawgs golden the Chinese calendar year. Indeed, I could feel that this year will be unexpected, unprecedented and surprising.

So, let me have a look at what's been happening since I last penned a word here. Hm... okay now I remember that I watched a movie just the other day called Kungfu Mahjong 2. I think it's a great comedic movie that would appeal to audiences of all ages, unless they're extremely mentally disorientated. Some of the jokes made in the movie aren't familiar to us, but it still kept the movie going at a pretty stable pace. Overall, I will give it ***1/2 as the ratings. By the way, this movie marks the 20th movie that I've seen this year! And yet there's a lot more to come such as Jarhead, Band Camp, and March of the Penguins just to name a few.

On Friday, had a small gathering with old 'bitch', Amber a.k.a. Momo. Julia, her sister, Jess, her boyfriend, Hoong and Joyie came along. We had a pleasant time in Asia Club, where we met up with some of our ex-juniors from ex-secondary school, Sekolah Sri Garden. Man, looking at that, it reflects on how fast we're aging. Anyway, Foosball and pool session were great. We had a fun time kicking at each other asses, and shoving up the cue into the asshole. Opz. A bit too harsh. By the way, I certainly think that Julia, the King Kong ought to learn how to pose when she's hitting the balls. Heard that?

Saturday, time for reunion of course. As usual, my father brought us out to meet his friends in a restaurant located in Kuchai Lama. Got to meet back some of my old pals that went abroad to study. Hell they changed a lot. Fatter, thinner, prettier, more handsome, taller, etc. Those friends of mine were kinda close last mine. However, after being separated for few years, there is a gap between us already, which sorta sucks. Reunion 'party' was entertaining, with people singing, shaking their booty, and welcoming the new year. Looking at that, I strongly agree that this tradition should be continued by the younger generations. Above all that, whats more important is the red pockets that's given to unmarried children by the married adults. I love that part.

Now, time passed quickly and Sunday marked the first day of the New Year. Unfortunately, the day started off unpleasantly. Why? Just when I was sleeping soundly on my comfortable bed waiting for 10 o clock to strike, the dogs were already barking early in the morning to wake me up. On top of that, there was an electricity disruption, which lasted for a pretty long period. Man... but things got better as noon was approaching when everything went back alright. Quite a boring day afterall. Nighttime was a bit more fun, as my relatives (the monkeys) came to pay us a visit, as requested by my father. As I'm not so close to 'em, didn't really talk to them much. It was as if that we were in 2 separated worlds with a distance of few millions kilometres. Luckily, 2 cousins of mine were able to break the ice, and we had a little chat, but was ended in no time as they were to leave already. Nonetheless, they will be back tomorrow again.

Okay, the last time I posted, I mentioned about Keahi Farkas Gen. I can't believe that certain people thought that it was a new pet of mine. Well, I don't call it a pet, but it is a new life that's given to me. It's a car for goodness sake. Yeap, finally I got a car. Driving is okay to me now, but parking my car is a major problem occurring at the moment. Let it be side parking, or normal parking, I can't manage to park my car. Hm... maybe a little more time will help me with that difficulty or else I won't be able to go to anywhere alone.

Letter of Acceptance...

Since I last updated, life has been the same. No new characters in my drama, and exisiting characters still do exist for their own roles which I don't understand thoroughly.

Over the days when I was off from blogger, I managed to finish 4 movies. Firstly, Memoirs of a Geisha clearly was the best movie out of the 4 that I'd watched. The story was fine, and the casts portrayed the characters well, maybe except for Zhang Zi Yi who still has some difficulties with the language used in the movie, but overall, I can see improvements in her. Mameha, played by Michelle Yeoh was great. The most memorable scene of the movie gotta be the dance by Chyoe (if that's how the name should be spelt). By the way, beware people, 'cause we have our own geisha called Jujumachi around us. Easily, I would rate this movie ****1/2.

I saw the other 3 movies at home. Cursed, a debut performance by Christina Ricci wasn't a bad movie at all. Well, it did rake in 20 million in the US Box Office afterall. I personally think that Christina need to work on her acting skills a little more, some expressions of hers weren't convincing enough. The flow of the story wasn't smooth neither. Now that's a bit disappooinyting because it would be difficult for an audience to keep up with the story. Although I'm saying that, I still give this movie ***. Then, I saw Venom, one of the worst horror movies that I've watched so far. Story was dreadful and boring. Nothing much that I could say. That movie just falls into the ** category.

Finally, Into the Blue was up on my playlist. I have not much to complain about this movie. The sceneries of the oceans were definitely breathtaking and I will give it an additional * for the rating later; bravo to the director that shot this movie beautifully. Another so-so performance by Jessica Alba, I'm just waiting for her to take on an outstanding role that will push her to the next level of her career. For the story, I give it ** 1/2. So now, final rating for this movie: ***1/2.

Divergance. After waiting for a few weeks now, at last I received the acceptance letter from Monash University saying that I've benn accepted as a sudent in Monash. I'm so glad that it finally arrived because that certainly kept me bloody worried for days now. The commencement of the first semester would be in roughly 4 weeks from now, with orientation first of course and then the official opening of the gate of hell would be on the 27th of February. Unlike other universities, Monash seems pretty stressful and all. And the location of it isn't strategic since there isn't good food around that area. Fuck that. I want Peppercorn. I want Uncle Seng. I want Lucky Fish Mee. I want Cabana. I want Casamia. I want Al-Rafi. I want McDonalds.

Another 6 days to go till Chinese New Year. I think I'm done with my shopping already. But I still think that I should get another 2 pairs of pants. Mentioning shopping reminds me of Kelly. During my last shopping session in Bukit Bintang, Kelly was there too, working! And of course, as we're under the same family [orang utan=Kelly], I gave her a "surprise" visit. She gave me some samples to try on, and I eventually became her first customer out of her hundreds/thousands of customers later. Anyway, Alicia was working there too. Next time I go there, I will get something again through Alicia to be fair. The nuts are pretty delicious anyways!

During my last guitar class, my teacher insisted that I should go for examination this year for Grade 5. I really love to try, but looking at all the songs, chords, and scales that I would have to learn, I would hesitate at the same time. Just for the scales, I would have to memorise about 50 of them, which is about 6 pages or so. And for the songs, a glimpse at 'em tells me that they're awesomely difficult to be played fluently and dynamically. And the time left for preparation isn't enough for amateurs like me. Damn.
