ANTM 8 Episode 1 Quickie

Whilst Channel [V] was just airing the cycle 7 of America's Next Top Model, the cycle 8 has actually commenced in the States, with its finale to be shown on this upcoming Thursday or Wednesday depending on where you are. Before we find out who's the America's next top model from cycle 8, I just thought that I should begin with my recap of each episode with their portfolio and my own choice of call-out ranking and elimination. So, let's start!

In episode 1, as usual thousands of hopefuls were narrowed down to 33 girls. After all the girls have arrived, they were brought to this boot camp where they met both Jays. A little challenge to start up the competition, with Sarah being the winner. Tyra joins them after that, doing some amateur stompings. I'm not sure if the passions driving her wild or something, but former-Victoria-Secret-supermodel is getting crazier and crazier. Anyway, interviews were then conducted, with Dionne excelling in dragging the session by her continual self representation skill. Judging from the interview, it would have been assumed that most of the girls didn't look like models at all. Anyway, the girl from Russia, started some arguments with 2 of the contestants. Oh yea, look out for the hot drama queen, Kathleen who started the interview with commotion!

Prior to second elimination, only 20 girls remain after the first cut. The second elimination was actually based on their very first photoshoot on handbags in a party. Kathleen looked great here, while Sarah looked awesome. Nevertheless, the final 13 were then chosen wisely by Tyra, Mr. Jay and Ms. Jay. I do think that they have made the right choices, considering the potential and capabilities of the girls. So, let's find out who are the 13 lucky girls who made the cut!
